ANIE’s at  COMEDAF Exhibition

The African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE) participated in the exhibitions of the COMEDAF  4TH Conference of African Ministers of Education that took place on 22- 26TH November 2009 at White sands Hotel Mombasa Kenya. The theme of the conference was “Revitalizing Higher Education in Africa”. The meeting brought together Ministers of Education from member states of the African Union (AU). The meeting focused on the progress report on the implementation of AU plan of action for the second decade of Education for Africa; The pan African University project, Mwalimu Julius Nyerere African Union Scholarship programme and partnership building towards the implementation of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) strategy among others. Participants of COMEDAF IV include officials from The AU Commission, AU member states, RECs, International Organizations and civil society.

The ANIE exhibition stand attracted many participants who were excited about the objectives and activities of ANIE. The delegates visiting the stand were taken through the historical background of ANIE, its profile and planed activities. The exhibition provided a good platform for interaction and exposure between ANIE and related organizations and also gave ANIE more visibility especially within the African higher education fraternity. ANIE was represented by the Secretary Mr. James Otieno Jowi and the Administrator, Mr. Julius Koech. ANIE is grateful to ADEA for supporting our participation in this important event.
