ANIE periodically organizes conferences, workshops and meetings on the international dimension of higher education in Africa. Such forums provide scholars and practitioners in internationalization of higher education with an opportunity to meet, exchange ideas, network and partner/collaborate. Examples of such forums include ANIE’s past conference and workshop and the upcoming ones. ANIE also participates in other forums such as the European Association for International Education (EAIE) conference in Madrid Spain in September 2009. ANIE also participated in the EDULINK-AUDIS Conference in Maputo, Mozambique in October 2009 and in the East Africa Community (EAC) Conference in Dar es Salaam Tanzania in October 2009. ANIE is also an affiliate of the International Association of Universities (IAU). In future, ANIE intends to hold colloquiums.

ANIE provides a unique opportunity for members to connect to a global network of institutions, organizations and individuals involved in the international dimension of higher education. This is mainly through the conferences and workshops it organizes and in collaborating with like-minded networks.

The ANIE resource centre has relevant research publications on internationalization of higher education for use by members (see the publications section). In addition, through conferences, workshops, research publications and the website, ANIE serves as a resourceful information centre. ANIE is also in the process of developing a web portal that will enable members to access online resources such as e-journals and e-newsletters and to interact through live chats and blogs. ANIE will also document its research outcomes through the website.
