Higher Education Policy, Vol.22, Issue 3 (September 2009)

This issue of Higher Education Policy focused on internationalization of higher education in Africa. It explored how internationalization impacts on higher education in Africa and how this impact might be different from other world regions. The issue has six papers focusing on the central theme, five of which are contributions from members of ANIE. Three of these papers are from the new generation scholars of ANIE through whom research capacity on internationalization is being developed. The papers provide empirical analysis of salient issues on internationalization of higher education in Africa ranging from quality issues, the role of ICT, academic partnerships & collaborations, academic resources and a broader understanding of the current trends and implications of internationalization in Africa.

Just like ANIE, Higher Education Policy recognizes the growing importance of internationalization of higher education. The abstracts of the papers are available on http://www.palgrave-journals.com/hep/journal/v22/n3/full/hep200913a.html
