The idea of an African Forum on Internationalization Resources Exchange (AFIRE) originated from the 1ST ANIE Conference held at Moi University, Eldoret in 2009. The aim was to promote closer interaction and sharing of information and educational resources on internationalization. The development of AFIRE is one of the core areas under the ANIE-MRCI funding which was meant to enable the “Development of a Framework for Sharing R&D Resources on the Internationalization of Higher Education in Africa”.
ANIE is currently in the process of stocking up AFIRE by collecting relevant materials on internationalization to be put up on AFIRE. The process of sourcing resources on internationalization of higher education cannot be achieved without the support of ANIE members and all other people engaged in the process of internationalization of higher education. ANIE therefore requests members to provide us with links and/or articles on internationalization. Some of the areas include:
- Experts in internationalization (most ANIE members are experts therefore please send us a short profile of yourself so we can put it up, other people can send their profiles too)
- Books on internationalization (please send us titles, authors, soft copies of the books if you have access to them, links to where they can be found if you do not have access, abstracts etc)
- Complete articles on internationalization (titles, authors, copies of the articles if you have access to them, links to where they can be found if you do not have access)
- Organizations engaged in internationalization (names of the organizations, where they are based, what they do etc)
All this information and any other relevant information can be sent to sec@anienetwork.org. We will greatly appreciate your support in stocking up AFIRE and we work towards advancing the internationalization of higher education in Africa and beyond.
